The Showtime Roundup event was full of talent at the 16u and 17U level. Multiple players showed their skill set and  what they bring to each of their respected teams. Competitive games were played throughout the event and another successful weekend of grassroots basketball was played.

16U All-Event Team

Jaylen Martin - Showtime Ballers

Martin was one of the best players from the class of 2022 at the event. He had a huge game against Team CP25, having 40 points. His ability to shoot the ball from deep range made defenders have to pick him up once he crossed half court. He used his speed to his advantage, getting to the basket with ease and finishing over bigger defenders.

Ven Lubin - Team CP25

Lubin, a 6'6 forward showed us his versatile skill set all weekend. He played to his strengths, being a slasher. He is great in the perimeter area and even expanded his game with moving out to the three point line, creating more space on the floor for his teammates.

Denzel Aberdeen - Team CP25

Denzel Aberdeen used his speed to create scoring opportunities for himself the whole event.  His ability to get into the lane and use his crafty finishing to score was almost unstoppable. Aberdeen was great at getting his teammates involved as well. He set his teammates up with open shots on the perimeter, and when his teammates cut to the basket he would find them.

Jaylen Wharton - Showtime Ballers

The 6'6 rising junior has a very reliable perimeter jump shot. He showed us that he is a great ball- handler in the open court. Playing well in transition, he was able to score easily on lay ups, but ore importantly was very unselfish with his teammates.

Jayden Williams - 1Family

Jayden Williams was able to get into the lane whenever he wanted during the event. The 6'3 shooting guard shot the ball at a very high level from three, and the mid-range area. His floater was very consistent in each game, arching it over taller defenders.

17U All-Event Team

Matt Bewley - Team Breakdown

Matt Bewley validated that he is one of the best players in the nation. He was dominant in the paint throughout the whole event. Bewley scored 35 points in a win over Team CP25. Bewley is an elite scorer who has the athleticism to play above the rim. His defense was stellar as well, blocking shots, and getting defensive rebounds.

Wesley Cardet - Team Breakdown

Cardet is an elite defender. He uses his long arms to his advantage to block shots and to keep his opponent in front of him. In a game against Team CP25, Cardet went for 30 points. Using his dribble combinations to get by defenders, he was strong at finishing at the rim.

AJ Neal - Showtime Ballers

AJ Neal has range beyond the three point line. Defenders would have to pick him up right when he crossed half court. Using his speed, he was able to blow by defenders that would pick him up too high. Neal is a great play maker who always makes everyone around him better.

Exauce Manissa - Showtime Ballers

Manissa is an elite shot blocker. He was great at hustling back on defense and protecting the rim throughout the whole event. He moves great for his size, running the lane and being a post presence for his team. He is able to score with his back towards the basket, or face up and hit the mid-range jump shot.

Jarvy Gainey - 1Family

Gainey had himself a great all around event. He scored 26 points in a win over PHS Elite, where he scored at every level. His ability to create his own shot was showed and impressed all. Using his great ball handling, he was able to create space from his defender to make plays. Gainey is also a great rebounder for his position, leading to run outs and easy scores for his team.
