The new and elite high school basketball conference, featuring some of the nations top tier programs, will be formed for the 2020-2021 high school season. The conference will be called the National Interscholastic Basketball Conference and will feature eight of the country's top programs. Montverde Academy (FL), Sunrise Christian (KS), Wasatch Academy (UT), Oak Hill Academy (VA), Legacy Early College (SC), La Lumiere (IN), Hamilton Heights (TN), and Bishop Walsh (MD) headline the eight teams expected to compete in the league.
All eight teams will face each other around the country at different national events and all games will be considered as "league games". Big time national events like the Spalding Hoophall Classic and Metro Classic have been considered two of the stops for most teams in the league. League play is expected to begin in January 2021. Every team will not be at every single event. For example, the Hoophall West and Montverde Invitational will both be played on January 28-30th, so some teams will head to Phoenix, Arizona for the Hoophall West and some teams will be heading to Orlando, Florida for the Montverde Invitational. Hamilton Heights (TN) and La Lumiere (IN) are expected to play each other in Dayton, Ohio as part of the Flyin to the Hoop event. Hamilton Heights will also travel to Oak Hill Academy (VA) on February 19th, which will count as a league game. Sunrise Christian (KS) and Oak Hill Academy (VA) are both expected to be at the Heartland Hoops Classic in Grand Island, Nebraska. All eight teams are expected to be together at both the National Hoopfest events, which will be played in Springfield, Virginia, and at the league's conference tournament in March.
The NIBC will be like the Nike EYBL but for high school basketball. Elite teams with elite talents playing in one weekend. Key dates and locations are set as of now but the schedule is subject to change. Below you can find the key dates, locations, and which national event will be hosting these teams for league play.
