It has not been the best week in the world of high school hoops regarding the 2020-2021 high school season. Top events like the Battle Basketball Showcase, which was scheduled to be played this weekend in Allen, Texas, and the famous Spalding Hoophall Classic, which was scheduled for MLK weekend in Springfield, Massachusetts, have both been cancelled. The good news is that we will still have high level basketball to be played this weekend and below is a list of a few top matchups we can look forward to for tomorrow.
Sandy Creek (GA) vs Pace Academy (GA)
The state of Georgia begins their 2020-2021 high school basketball season this weekend. Sandy Creek and Pace Academy, two of Georgia's top programs coming into this season, will face off at the On the Radar Tip Off Classic at Providence Christian Academy this Saturday. Sandy Creek features highly rated Auburn commit 2021 F Jabari Smith Jr. and Washington State commit 2021 PG Myles Rice while Pace Academy features highly rated Florida State 2021 F Matthew Cleveland. Cleveland, Rice, and Smith Jr. all played on the same AAU team this past summer with the Atlanta Celtics. Both Sandy Creek and Pace Academy are the favorites right now to win their class state championships. This game should be one of the best matchups we encounter this season with other top events and showcases being cancelled due to COVID-19.
Winston-Salem Christian (NC) vs No. 18 Combine Academy (NC)
The state of North Carolina began their 2020-2021 high school basketball season at the beginning of the month and this weekend's action should be spectacular with a plethora of high level matchups. Winston-Salem Christian and Combine Academy will face off this weekend at the Phenom November Classic in Rock Hill, South Carolina. Combine Academy has established themselves as the best team in North Carolina early this season with two big wins last weekend at the Phenom Tip-Off Classic. Their matchup against Winston-Salem Christian this Saturday night should draw a big crowd. Known prospects like 2023 Robert Dillingham, 2022 F Brandon White, 2022 G Quante Berry, 2023 F Mehki Grant, and others will headline the highly anticipated matchup.
Hamilton Heights (TN) @ Knoxville Catholic (TN)
Two of Tennessee's top two programs will be facing off this Saturday at Knoxville Catholic for an early season matchup. These two are scheduled to play each other at least one more time and it should be an interesting battle. Knoxville Catholic, the defending TSAAA DII-AA champions, opened their 2020-2021 season earlier this week and where top rated 2022 PG B.J. Edwards dropped 22 points in a win. Hamilton Heights, who finished last season in the top-10 nationally, have began the season with a 2-1 overall record and winning their last matchup against Knoxville Christian (TN) 68-54. The Hawks roster features top prospects like 2022 F Felix Okpara, 2022 PG Reggie Bass, and 2021 PG Yerald Mieses.

Lake Norman Christian, who sits at 3-1 overall right now, will have themselves a tough stretch coming up in the next few games. They will begin with a matchup against The Burlington School this weekend at the Phenom November Classic in Rock Hill, South Carolina. 2023 G Mikey Williams is averaging 22.7 PPG shooting 50% from the field so far this season. The Spartans feature key guys like 2021PG Jamarii Thomas, 2021 F Kuluel Mading, 2023 SG Jakel Powell, and others. These two programs will be the main event matchup on Saturday night at the Rock Hill Sports Arena.
Lancaster (TX) @ iSchool Lewisville (TX)
Lancaster and iSchool Lewisville will feature an elite in state matchup between two of Texas's top programs coming into the 2020-2021 high school season. With the Battle Basketball Showcase being cancelled for this weekend, this matchup here sits on the list as one of the top games to keep an eye on for the weekend. Lancaster, who finished with a 36-1 overall record last season, will be led by Texas A&M commit 2021 PG Wade Taylor. The Tigers are playing one of the toughest schedules in the state, facing a plethora of big time programs across the state of Texas. iSchool Lewisville had began the season with a 1-1 overall record and have been led by one of the top prospects in the class 2022 SG Keyonte George, who is averaging 23.5 PPG coming into this one.
