Updated HS Circuit Top 25: Week 9

Our Week 9 national top-25 rankings are in and what a week we had last week to begin the year 2021. The NIBC league tipped off this past weekend at the St. James Invitational in Springfield, Virginia.

We have a bunch of major shifts in our latest updated rankings, with a few top-25 programs losing key games last week. A a couple new programs have also entered our national top-25 rankings and a few programs have been released. Below you can check out our latest top-25 rankings. 

***High School programs competing as 'club' teams with identical rosters are being treated like a standard high schools.

1. Montverde Academy (FL) (13-0) 
The Eagles hold on to their number one national ranking after going 3-0 this weekend in Springfield, Virginia at the NIBC St. James Invitational. The Eagles defeated Sunrise Christian (KS), La Lumiere (IN), and Bishop Walsh (MD) to begin NIBC play.

2. IMG Academy (FL) (12-0) 
IMG Academy moves up a spot to now number two in the country in our latest top-25 national rankings. The Ascenders go 4-0 last week that included two wins at their own Ascenders Classic. They will be heading to Springfield, Virginia this weekend as they are competing in the St. James Invitational where they will face #1 Montverde Academy (FL), #3 Sunrise Christian (KS), and Houston (TN).

3. Sunrise Christian (KS) (7-1)
Sunrise Christian goes 2-1 in their first weekend in Springfield, Virginia at the NIBC St. James Invitational. The Buffaloes will have major matchups this week in the same venue as they face #2 IMG Academy (FL) and #4 AZ Compass Prep (AZ).

4. Compass Prep (AZ) (15-0)
AZ Compass Prep made their way on the court for the first time since early December last week defeating iSchool Lewisville (TX) and EDUPrize (AZ). The Dragons have two major matchups in Springfield, Virginia at the St. James Invitational against #1 Montverde Academy (FL) and #3 Sunrise Christian (KS).

5. Oak Hill Academy (VA) (10-0) 
Oak Hill Academy goes 3-0 to begin NIBC league play this weekend at the NIBC St. James Invitational in Springfield, Virginia. The Warriors defeated Legacy Early College (SC), #6 Wasatch Academy (UT), and Hamilton Heights (TN). The Warriors will have a key game this weekend in the same venue against #1 Montverde Academy (FL).

6. Wasatch Academy (UT) (13-1)
The Tigers drop a spot after losing their first game to Oak Hill Academy (VA) last weekend at the NIBC St. James Invitational in Springfield, Virginia. Wasatch Academy will have big matchups this weekend against #1 Montverde Academy (FL) and #3 Sunrise Christian in the same venue.

7. Minnehaha Academy (MN) (1-0)
Minnehaha Academy is expected to begin their 2020-2021 high school season this Friday against Providence Academy (MN).

8. Combine Academy (NC) (15-2)
Combine Academy moves into our top-10 in our latest national top-25 update after a couple loses from other top-25 programs last week. The Goats will have a major contest tonight on the road against #25 Word of God Christian (NC).

9. St. Frances Academy (MD) (10-1)
St. Frances Academy moves back into our top-10 national rankings after win against Baltimore Poly (MD) last weekend. The Panthers will head to Springfield, Virginia this weekend to play. in the St. James Invitational. They will face iSchool Lewisville (TX), John Marshall (VA), and #16 DeMatha Catholic.

10. Prolific Prep (CA) (20-3) 
Prolific Prep move back into our top-10 national rankings and are currently on a 13-game winning streak. The Crew will have key games against BFL Prep (WA) and Our Saviour Lutheran (NY) this weekend in Phoenix, Arizona as part of the Grind Session bubble

11. Duncanville (TX) (14-1)
The Panthers dropped their first game of the season this past weekend against now top-25 ranked Waxahachie (TX). Duncanville moves to 14-1 overall on the season and will have two more games this weekend.

12. West Oaks Academy (FL) (9-4)
West Oaks Academy moves down a spot after taking a lost to Florida State High School (FL) this past weekend. The Flame will have two more games this week against Downey Christian (FL) and Oldsmar Christian (FL).

13. Ypsi Prep Academy (MI) (3-2)
Ypsi Prep Academy barely squeezed by Coronado (NV) this past weekend in Dallas, Texas at the Battle Basketball Showcase. The Ball Boys will face St. Francis (OH) this week.

14. Legacy Early College (SC) (9-3)
The Lions come into this week's top-25 rankings at number fourteen in the country after going 1-2 to begin NIBC league play. Legacy Early College will have two major games this weekend against #1 Montverde Academy (FL) and #6 Wasatch Academy (UT) at the NIBC St. James Invitational in Springfield, Virginia.

15. Milton (GA) (12-2)
Milton's two games were cancelled last week after winning the Beach Ball Classic in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. The Eagles will play this week again against Roswell (GA) and with a big matchup against Pace Academy (GA) on MLK Day.

16. DeMatha Catholic (MD) (1-0)
DeMatha Catholic wins their first game of the season this past weekend against Avalon (MD). 2022 G Rodney Rice posted 18 points, 10 boards, and 2 steals in his DeMatha Catholic debut.

17. Camden (NJ) (0-0)
The Panthers are expected to begin their season this month and are one of the top programs in the state of New Jersey as their 2020-2021 high school season begins. Their schedule though has yet to be confirmed.

18. La Lumiere (IN) (1-2)
La Lumiere began their 2020-2021 high school season this past weekend at the NIBC St. James Invitational in Springfield, Virginia with a 1-2 overall record. The Lakers will have two major games this weekend in the same venue against #3 Sunrise Christian (KS) and #5 Oak Hill Academy (VA).

19. Dream City Christian (AZ) (12-4)
Dream City Christian won both their games last week in Phoenix, Arizona as part of the Grind Session bubble including a big win over Central Pointe (FL). The Eagles will have two more games this week.

20. Calvary Christian (FL) (8-3)
Calvary Christian did not play in their matchup against St. Andrew's (FL) due to COVID-19 reasons. The Eagles will play again this weekend against Archbishop Carroll (FL).

21. Waxahachie (TX) (11-2)
The Indians make their debut in our national top-25 rankings after defeating #11 Duncanville (TX) at home over the weekend. Waxahachie has been led by Oklahoma commit 2021 SG C.J. Noland, who dropped 30 points in the game against #11 Duncanville, this season. They will play again this week against Waco (TX).

22. The Patrick School (NJ) (0-0)
The Celtics are expected to begin their 2020-2021 high school season this month in the state of New Jersey. The Patrick School will face Upper Room Christian (NJ) at home on January 26th.

23. Paul VI (VA) (2-0)
Paul VI makes their 2020-2021 season debut this past weekend and get two wins over Centerville (VA) and St. Mary's Ryken (MD). 2021 SG Trevor Keels is averaging 31.5 PPG while shooting 56% from the field and snatching 13.5 RPG in the first two games of the season. Paul VI will face Virginia Academy this week before heading to Springfield, Virginia to face Houston (TN) in the St. James Invitational.

24. Oak Ridge (FL) (12-1)
The Oak Ridge Pioneers, out of Orlando, Florida, have made their first appearance in our national top-25 rankings this season. The Pioneers already have a couple quality wins under their belt with their only lost of the season coming from #20 Calvary Christian (FL) on a buzzer beater.

25. Word of God Christian (NC) (23-4)
The Word of God Christian Rams make their debut in our top-25 national rankings for the first time this season. The Rams are currently 23-4 overall on the season and their roster is headlined by 2022 F Jai Smith. Word of God will have a major matchup tonight against #8 Combine Academy (NC), a team they lost to earlier in the season 64-60.
