2021-2022 HS Circuit National Top-25 Rankings (Preseason)

The 2021-2022 high school season is officially here and will begin this week and next for some programs around the country. We are in the month of November and the official top-25 preseason national rankings have been released to start the season.. 

The top-25 rankings have shifted a bunch of times since are last updated release back in late August. Moves have been made drastically from top to bottom with new player additions, schedules, and more. Below you can find out which programs have made our top-25 rankings to begin the 2021-2022 high school season. 

1. AZ Compass Prep (AZ) 
Last Season Record: 31-2
Season Opener: 11/2 v. Skyline Prep (AZ)

AZ Compass stays put as our number one ranked team coming into the 2021-2022 high school season. Dragons have added multiple highly rated prospects to their roster this past spring, summer including 2023 F Mookie Cook2022 SG Lamar Washington2022 F Collin Smith (Vanderbilt)2023 PG Kylan Boswell2022 F Max Allen2022 PG Dylan Andrews (UCLA)2024 SG Chris Riddle, and recently adding 2022 SG Chance Westry (Auburn). AZ Compass will be playing one the toughest schedules in the country during the 2021-2022 season with expectations to face a plethora of top-25 ranked programs. They will without question be one of the favorites to reclaim the Grind Session World Championships title. The Dragons will be in multiple national events around the country which includes stops at the Thanksgivng Hoopfest, City of Palms Classic, Spalding Hoophall Classic, and plenty more top tier events.

2. Montverde Academy (FL)
Last Season Record: 24-1
Season Opener: 11/19 v. NFEI (FL)

The Eagles come in as a very close 2nd ranked program in our top-25 national rankings to begin the 2021-2022 high school season. The defending GEICO Nationals champions will be one of the favorites to win the NIBC and GEICO Nationals once again this upcoming season. 2022 SG Dariq Whitehead (Duke) is coming into his senior season with the program and will be the leader of this year's Montverde Academy group. The Eagles have reloaded this off-season like always and have added guys like 2022 F Dillon Mitchell (Texas)2023 F Kwame Evans Jr.2022 C Vincent Iwukuchwu (USC)2024 F Amier Ali, and 2024 F Derik Queen2022 PG Skyy Clark (Kentucky) and 2024 PG ZZ Clark to the roster. Montverde Academy will be playing in national events like the Holiday Hoopsgiving, Hoophall West, Spalding Hoophall Classic, City of Palms Classic, and more throughout this season.

3. Oak Hill Academy (VA)
Last Season Record: 21-9
Season Opener: 10/29 v. The Steward Academy (WA)

Powerhouse Oak Hill Academy has climbed the charts in our national top-25 rankings since May and are now coming into the 2021-2022 season ranked at number three in the country. The Warriors have turned their entire roster around since the end of the 2020-2021 high school season. Adding prospects like 2022 F Chris Livingston (Kentucky)2022 G Judah Mintz (Pittsburgh), 2022 PG Cordell Livingston2022 F Devin Ree (LSU)2022 C Christian Reeves, 2022 F Jeremy Gregory (East Tennessee State). The Warriors are deep and still bring back key guys like 2023 PG Caleb Foster (Dike)2023 F Justin McBride2024 G Tybo Bailey, and 2022 G Xavier Brown from last season's 21-9 overall squad. Oak Hill Academy will be playing a national schedule this season making stops at the Phenom Battle of the Goats, City of Palms Classic, Spalding Hoophall Classic, Metro Classic, and others throughout the season.

4. Prolific Prep (CA)
Last Season Record: 31-5
Season Opener: 11/6 v. 
Renaissance Academy (CA)

West Coast powerhouse Prolific Prep has moved up to our top-5 in our national top-25 rankings to begin the 2021-2022 high school season. Since our latest rankings released back in August, The Crew have added major prospects to their roster for this season. 2022 PG Dior Johnson (Oregon), 2022 SG Tre White, 2024 SG Dink Pate, 2022 C Mor Seck, and 2024 SG Zion Sensley have made it to campus in Northern California. Key pieces like 2022 PG Jordan Pope and 2022 C Adem Bona (UCLA) will be returning to campus from last season's squad that appeared in the GEICO Nationals. The Crew will definitely be one of the Grind Session's top teams once again and they will for sure be looking to make their third straight GEICO Nationals appearance at the end of this season.

5. IMG Academy (FL)
Last Season Record: 22-3
Season Opener: 11/17 v. Southwest Florida Christian (FL)

The Ascenders will be looking to capture their first GEICO Nationals championship since the 2018-2019 high school season. They will be loaded with talent on the roster from top to bottom and come into the season ranked at number five in our first top-25 national rankings of the season. Key guys like 2022 PG Jaden Bradley (Alabama), 2022 F Jarace Walker2022 SG Eric Dailey Jr.2022 SG Jett Howard (Michigan)2023 F Gus Yalden2022 SG Noah Batchelor (Memphis), and 2024 SG Anthony Gilkes have returned to the IMG campus for this upcoming season. IMG Academy has also added highly rated 2022 SG Keyonte George (Baylor) and 2023 PG Jacoi Hutchinson to the 2021-2022 season roster. They are deep at the guard and wing positions and will definitely use their speed and skill to beat much bigger opponents down low. IMG Academy will be playing in the NIBC for the first time and could be one of the favorites to capture the conference title by the end of the season.

6. Sunrise Christian (KS)
Last Season Record: 20-4
Season Opener: 11/9 v. Phoenix Prep (AZ)

Sunrise Christian comes into the 2021-2022 high school season ranked in the top-10 nationally, which is nothing new. The Buffaloes have always been well coached by head coach Luke Barnwell and staff and will look to make another GEICO Nationals appearance by the end of March and early April. They lose some major key pieces from last season's 20-4 overall team who made the GEICO Nationals title game but have secured some highly rated prospects for this year. 2022 PG Dillon Hunter (Baylor)2022 F Cameron Corhen (Florida State)2022 F Mark Mitchell2023 F Scotty Middleton, and 2022 PG Noah Pick are the newcomers on campus and 2022 F Gradey Dick (Kansas) will be returning as well. Sunrise Christian currently ranks at number six to begin the 2021-2022 high school season.

7. La Lumiere (IN)
Last Season Record: 12-10
Season Opener: 11/5 v. Aim High Academy (MI)

Indiana and national powerhouse La Lumiere will be coming into the 2021-2022 high school season ranked in our top-10 and at number seven. The Lakers should be one of the the favorites to capture the NIBC title this season and should make their way back to the GEICO Nationals once again. Head coach Pat Holmes and his staff will be bringing back most of their key guys from last season alongside some key addition. 2022 G J.J. Starling2022 F Chisom Okpara (Harvard)2022 C Kebba Njie (Penn State), and 2023 PG Jeremy Fears Jr. are the key returnees from just last season while 2022 F Taj Manning (Kansas State) is a quality addition. La Lumiere will be playing another tough national schedule this upcoming season as always.

8. Sierra Canyon (CA)
Last Season Record: 16-2
Season Opener: 11/18 v. Montgomery (CA)

Sierra Canyon will be back on tour this upcoming high school season as they are set to play in multiple cities as they did back during the 2019-2020 high school season. The Trailblazers have reloaded and have a few key pieces coming back from their roster just a year ago. 2022 G Amari Bailey (UCLA) and 2023 G Bronny James Jr. definitely still headline the roster for this season but other key returnees like 2022 G Ramel Lloyd (Nebraska) and 2022 F Shy Odom will be back as well. 2023 G Mike Price and 2024 SG Isaiah Eholim have been the key new additions for the California powerhouse. Sierra Canyon begins the 2021-2022 high school ranked in our top-10 nationally at number eight and proved their worth a couple weeks ago at the famous Border League Top Flight showcase event in Vegas.

9. Link Academy (MO)
Last Season Record: N/A
Season Opener: 11/9 v. Prise Prep (MO)

Link Academy, brand new high school program out of Missouri, will make their debut this season with their high school squad. The Lions moved up a spot since August in our preseason top-25 national rankings to begin 2021-2022. They have secured multiple next level prospects to round out their roster and will have the best front court in the nation coming in. 2022 F Jordan Walsh (Arkansas)2022 C Tarris Reed Jr. (Michigan)2022 F Felix Okpara (Ohio State)2023 F Omaha Biliew, and 2022 F Julian Phillips (LSU) round out their elite court in the front court. Link Academy will be playing a national schedule in their debut season and that includes a plethora of games against multiple top-25 programs. Will be looking to get a spot in the 2022 GEICO Nationals.

10. Wasatch Academy (UT)
Last Season Record: 18-7
Season Opener: N/A

Wasatch Academy will be looking to make back-to-back GEICO National appearances under head coach Paul Peterson by the end of March, beginning of April. The Tigers reached the annual elite tournament last season under his first year and will once again be playing in the loaded NIBC. Wasatch Academy has moved up to the top-10 nationally to start out the 2021-2022 high school season. 2022 PG Koren Johnson (San Diego State), 2022 F Chris Bunch (Syracuse), and 2022 SG Roddy Gayle (Ohio State) headline the roster for the Tigers this season. The Holiday Hoopsgiving, Hoophall West, Spalding Hoophall Classic, and others are set on their schedule for this season.

11. Camden (NJ)
Last Season Record: 13-0
Season Opener: 12/17 v. Roselle Catholic (NJ)

The Panthers are coming into the 2021-2022 high school season with a 38-game winning streak and that sure will be tested this season as they are expected to play in multiple national events and playing against multiple top tier programs. Camden comes in ranked right outside the top-10 nationally, the number one ranked public school, and the number one team in the state of New Jersey. 2023 PG D.J. Wagner and 2023 C Aaron Bradshaw headline their roster for this upcoming season. The Panthers have surrounding pieces to complicated the two and will be on watch this year. Their full schedule has yet to be confirmed but they are expected to appear in the Spalding Hoophall Classic.

12. Westtown School (PA)
Last Season Record: 20-5
Season Opener: 11/19 v. West Nottingham (MD)

The Moose would have easily been apart of the top-25 national rankings during the 2020-2021 high school season if it were not for COVID-19. Westtown School moves up a few spots from number sixteen to ranked twelve in our official preseason top-25 rankings to begin the season. 2022 C Dereck Lively II (Duke) headlines their roster for this upcoming year. One of Pennsylvania's most consistent basketball programs will be back as of one of the top teams in the nation and not just in the Northeast area. They are expected to compete in national events like the PSA Cardinals Showcase, Slam Dunk to the Beach, Spalding Hoophall Classic, and others.

13. Long Island Lutheran (NY)
Last Season Record: N/A
Season Opener: 12/1 v. St. Mary's (NY)

One of the best and most consistent programs in the Northeast, Long Island Lutheran, will be back and loaded for the 2021-2022 high school season. After not having an actual season last year due to the effect of COVID-19, the Crusaders are looking forward to showing the nation why they are one of the top programs out of the state of New York. Guys like 2022 PG Jayden Pierre (Providence), 2022 F Finley Sheridan, 2022 C Jaxon Koroll, and 2023 PG Jayden Reid are key guys returning from what would have been last season's team. New additions like 2023 SG James Johns Jr. and 2022 SG Louis Hutchinson have been added to this season's roster for the Crusaders. Long Island Lutheran will be on the national stage once again and is expected to appear in top tier events like the Arby's Classic, Spalding Hoophall Classic, Metro Classic, and more.

14. DeMatha Catholic (MD)
Last Season Record: 11-0
Season Opener: 12/1 v. Coolidge (MD)

Powerhouse DeMatha Catholic will once again be one of the nation's top programs and will be coming into the 2021-2022 high school season ranked at number fourteen in the country. Legendary head coach Mike Jones has moved onto the college ranks but the Stags will still have an elite overall roster coming in. 2022 F Tyrell Ward (Xavier) and 2022 G Rodney Rice (Virginia Tech) headline the deep roster the Stags will have this upcoming season. They will be playing a national schedule and will be one of the favorites to capture the WCAC title, as they did back during the 2019-2020 high school season. The Hoophall West, Torrey Pines Tournament, and Spalding Hoophall Classic are just a few events the Stags will be apart of.

15. Roselle Catholic (NJ)
Last Season Record: 12-3
Season Opener: 12/17 @ Camden (NJ)

The Lions of Roselle Catholic are back as one of the better teams in the state of New Jersey, the Northeast region, and the nation. Roselle Catholic will be coming into the 2021-2022 high school season ranked at fifteen. After a shorten year last season due to COVID-19, head coach Dave Boff and his staff will be looking to lead Roselle Catholic to a TOC championship once again. They bring back key guys like 2023 PG Simeon Wilcher (North Carolina) and 2022 G Jamarques Lawrence (Nebraska) to their roster and acquire key prospects like 2023 F Akil Watson and 2024 SG Jaiden Glover. Lions will be playing a national schedule this season with multiple key matchups ahead.

16. Dr. Phillips (FL)
Last Season Record: 24-3
Season Opener: 11/24 v. Lake Highland Prep (FL)

Dr. Phillips, one of the top public schools in Orlando, Florida, come into the 2021-2022 high school season ranked at number sixteen in our official preseason top-25 national rankings. The Panthers are the defending class 7A state champions in the state of Florida. They return their big three from a year ago to the starting lineup with 2022 PG Denzel Aberdeen (Florida), 2022 C Ernest Udeh Jr. (Kansas), and 2022 SG Riley Kugel (Mississippi State). Dr. Phillips will be apart of an elite schedule this upcoming season with expected appearance in the City of Palms Classic, Arby's Classic, and Montverde Invitational. The Panthers will be looking to repeat as state champions and also possibly compete in the GEICO Nationals.

17. Denver Prep (CO)
Last Season Record: N/A
Season Opener: N/A

Denver Prep makes their debut in our national top-25 preseason rankings coming into the 2021-2022 high school season. One of the top newly programs out West will feature 2023 F Baye Fall, who is arguably the No. 1 prospect in that class. Their roster will also be headlined by 2023 F Assane Diop, a teammate of Fall on the AAU circuit with the Colorado Hawks. This squad should have the surrounding complimenting pieces around the two and will be playing a national schedule this upcoming year. They will be playing the tough Grind Session league and are expected to appear in events like the Battle at the Rock, Tarkanian Classic, and Chic-Fil-A Classic.

18. Combine Academy (NC)
Last Season Record: 28-3
Season Opener: 11/9 v. New Life Christian (NC)

Combine Academy might have dropped just a ton since our preseason top-25 rankings back in August but they are still coming into to the 2021-2022 high school season ranked in the top-25 and are arguably the best program in North Carolina. The Goats will be looking to make an even bigger statement this season and will look to get their name in the GEICO Nationals field at the end of March. Highly rated point guard Robert Dillingham and a couple others left unexpectedly, but the Goats will still have multiple next level prospects on their roster. 2022 PG Jayden Epps (Illinois), 2022 SG A.J. Smith, 2022 PG Preston Murphy Jr., 2023 F Mehki Grant, 2022 C Patrick Wessler (Virginia Tech), and others are still apart of the team.

19. Whitney Young (IL)
Last Season Record: 15-1
Season Opener: N/A

Whitney Young will be coming into the 2021-2022 high school season as not only one of the top programs in the country but one of the top programs in the state of Illinois. The Dolphins 2020-2021 high school season was screwed with due to the outbreak of COVID-19 back in early 2020 and they were forced to play a few set of games. 2022 F A.J. Casey will headline their 2021-2022 roster for now. Other key guys like 2022 F Xavier Amos2023 PG Dalen Davis2022 SG Daniel Johnson, and 2022 G Marcus Pigram will be returning next season for Whitney Young. They will be playing an elite schedule this upcoming year which includes stops at the Chicago Elite Classic, City of Palms Classic, Bass Pro TOC, and Spaldin Hoophall Classic just to name a few. The Dolphins come in ranked at nineteen in our preseason top-25 national rankings.

20. Southern Cal Academy (CA)
Last Season Record: 16-3
Season Opener: The Grind Session

Southern California Academy is one of the newest high school programs that will be hitting the floor during the 2021-2022 high school season and come in ranked at number twenty in the country. The Rams have themselves a loaded roster filled with next level prospects. 2022 F Jaxon Kohler (Michigan State), 2022 PG Amaree Abram (Texas A&M), 2022 SG Oziyah Sellers (USC), 2022 SG Robert Cowherd (Ole Miss), 2022 PG Broyce Batchan (San Francisco), and 2022 F Jaylen Thompson (Stanford) headline the college commits on the roster. Southern Cal will be playing a big time national schedule and will look to make the GEICO Nationals in March.

21. North Little Rock (AR)
Last Season Record: 20-2
Season Opener: 11/13 v. Bentonville (AR)

After fighting for clearance to play his senior season, 2022 SG Nick Smith Jr. (Arkansas) will be a major key piece to one of the top public school programs coming into the 2021-2022 high school sseaon. The Charging Wildcats have made their way into our preseason national top-25 and will be playing a big time schedule throughout the year. The defending AHSAA class 6A state champions are also bringing back 2022 C Kel'el Ware (Oregon) with a few other key additions. The Thanksgiving Hoopfest, Battle in the Bluff, and City of Palms Classic are just a few top tier events that North Little Rock will appear in during the season.

22. Milton (GA)
Last Season Record: 28-3
Season Opener: 11/24 v. North Gwinnett (GA)

The Milton Eagles will be coming into the 2021-2022 high school season as the best team in the Peach State once again and after capturing the GHSA Class 7A title just a year ago while making a GEICO Nationals appearance. 2022 PG Bruce Thornton (Ohio State) and 2023 G Kanaan Carlyle return as the elite backcourt for Milton this upcoming season. The defending class 7A state champions will be playing one of the hardest schedules in the country and very tough for a public school. The City of Palms, Beach Ball, and the Spalding Hoophall Classic are just a few national events they will competing in.

23. Orlando Christian Prep (FL)
Last Season Record: 27-0
Season Opener: 11/24 v. Wekiva (FL)

Orlando Christian Prep will be entering the season with a current 47-game winning streak dating back to a couple season's ago. The Warriors were crowned the FHSAA class 2A state champions just last season and will look to defend their title for the third straight year. Key guys like 2022 SG A.J. Brown (Ohio), 2022 F Ven Allen Lubin, and 2023 F Jayden Hastings are going to be returning to the starting lineup once again. Orlando Christian Prep will be playing a more of a national schedule this upcoming year, appearing in top tier tournaments like the City of Palms Classic and The Bash just to name a few. The Warriors could have been considered at least for a GEICO Nationals appearance and will look to actual make the elite tournament by the end of this season.

24. Real Salt Lake Academy (UT)
Last Season Record: 30-3
Season Opener: 11/23 v. Tooele (UT)

Real Salt Lake Academy comes in at number twenty-four in our official preseason top-25 national rankings entering the 2021-2022 high school season. The Griffins might not have that elite prospect or over powering type roster but they will have a solid group that will play the right way and surprise a few teams. They will be returning key guys like 2023 PG Dravyn Lawhorn-Gibbs and 2022 C Adam Stewart alongside guys like 2023 SG Trey Evans2024 SG David Kotoa2022 SG Taylor Evans2022 G Aaron Regen, and 2023 F JR Highby. Real Salt Lake will be appearing in top tier events like the Holiday Hoopsgiving, Beach Ball Classic, Quincy Shootout, and more throughout the season.

25. Calvary Christian (FL) 
Last Season Record: 17-7
Season Opener: 11/27 v. Highland Christian (FL)

Calvary Christian rounds out our official preseason national top-25 rankings coming into the 2021-2022 high school season. The Eagles captured the FHSAA class 3A state championship last season during a shortened COVID-19 season. They will bring back four of their five starters from their state championship team. 2023 G Marvel Allen, 2022 F Gregg Glenn (Michigan), 2023 G Carl Cherenfant, and 2022 F Taylor Hendricks (UCF) will be the main core returning to their roster this season. Calvary Christian will be competing on the national stage once again this season and appearing in the City of Palms Classic, Battle of the Villages, Spalding Hoophall Classic, and more.
