The 2022-2023 high school season has been underway for almost about a month now for most programs around the country and we are off to an incredible start to the high school season.
Things are going to be different at the end of this season with the NBPA and Gold Level Sports & Entertainment partnering to set up an elite national tournament featuring some of the nation's top high school programs throughout the season.
The Throne National Tournament will feature sixteen of the nation's top basketball programs coming together for a four-day single elimination tournament.
The event is scheduled to take place March 29th to April 1st 2023 in Atlanta, Georgia with HBCU Morehouse College playing host. The national event will feature a mix of state champions and programs outside of their state association.
Participating state associations like Georgia, Florida, Maryland, Washington D.C., Washington state, and others could fill out the state champions for the national tournament at the end of the season. More details will be presented soon.
“The Throne is a platform that is created for high school players, by the players that have made it to the pinnacle of sports and that is why we have partnered with the NBPA.
This next generation of athletes is faced with more opportunities than ever before, which is awesome, but it also makes it even more important for them to receive guidance from those who are already doing what they want to do.
That is why The Throne isn’t just a national championship for these players to compete against the best on a national stage, but also a platform to give them the resources and mentorship to help them be successful, both on and off the court.” Chief Executive of Gold Level Sports & Entertainment Darren Duncan says.
