We are just about halfway through the 2022-2023 high school season, for most that is, and most of the elite showcases, tournaments, and events have already passed by with us now in the middle of January in the new year.

Halfway through the season also means teams have secured some elite quality wins to add to their resume and record and here we take a look at which teams hold the most quality wins as of today.

Link Academy (MO)
Current Record: 18-0

Link Academy is only in their second season as a high school varsity program and currently 18-0 on the season. The Link Academy Lions are the number one team in the country and have been for a few weeks now. They have twelve highly rated wins on their resume which includes wins over Accelerated Prep (CO), Legacy SSS (TX), Mansfield Legacy (TX), Calvary Christian (FL), Southern Cal Academy (CA), St. Frances Academy (MD), The Rock School (FL), Our Saviour Lutheran (NY), George School (FL), St. Rita (IL), Christ the King (NY), and Sunrise Christian (KS). Link Academy and new head coach Bill Armstrong should be a lock by now for the GEICO Nationals, where they reached the championship game last season.

Duncanville (TX)
Current Record: 20-1

The Duncanville Panthers currently hold eleven high quality wins on their resume this season so far. The Panthers have been ranked as the No. 1 public school in the country for most of the season and ranked nationally in the top-10. They have captured wins over San Antonio Brennan (TX), Lake Highlands (TX), McEachern (GA), Corona Centennial (CA), Columbus (FL), Newton (GA), Bartlett (TN), Notre Dame (CA), Roselle Catholic (NJ), Oak Ridge (FL), and Bishop Gorman (NV). Although Duncanville cannot play for another state championship this season, the Panthers have been one of the better teams in the country and could see themselves playing for a national title this season (possibly as a club team).

Prolific Prep (CA)
Current Record: 21-0

Prolific Prep has consistently been one of the most dynamic basketball programs across the country over the last few years and this season has been no different. The Crew currently sit at 21-0 overall on the season rank just second in the current national top-25 rankings. They hold eleven total quality wins so far this season with wins over Southern Cal Academy (CA), Calvary Christian (FL), West Oaks (FL), Dynamic Prep (TX), DME Academy (FL), Cannon School (NC), Combine Academy (NC), Word of God (NC), Central Pointe (FL), Our Saviour Lutheran (NY), and Wasatch Academy (FL). New head coach Ryan Bernardi is looking to get Prolific Prep back in the GEICO Nationals this season, which should be a lock up to this point.

Corona Centennial (CA)
Current Record: 18-3

Corona Centennial has been just as good as advertised coming into to the 2022-2023 high school season as one of the best public school programs in the country. The Huskies are looking to repeat as CIF Open Division state champions and currently sit at 18-3 on the season, ranked in the top-25 nationally, and with eleven quality wins on their resume so far. The Huskies have highly rated wins over San Ysidro (CA), Liberty Magnet (LA), Martin (TX), Modesto Christian (CA), Bishop Gorman (NV), Winter Haven (FL), Lake Highlands (TX), Archbishop Stepinac (NY), Millbrook (NC), Notre Dame (CA), and Camden (NJ). Corona Centennial could see themselves playing for a national title maybe if they can capture that CIF state championship, possibly as a club team.

Columbus (FL)
Current Record: 16-3

Columbus High School comes in at third with the most quality wins up to this point in the 2022-2023 high school season. The Explores are the defending FHSA class 7A state champions and have been one of the top ranked national teams throughout the year. They currently hold ten total quality wins which includes games against DME Academy (FL), Grovetown (GA), Wheeler (GA), Myers Park (NC), Paul VI (VA), Camden (NJ), Westminster Academy (FL), Rivera Prep (FL), and Sierra Canyon (CA). The Explorers are looking like a top-10 team in the country and should see themselves apart of The Throne National Championship coming in March.

Harvard-Westlake (CA)
Current Record: 21-1

Harvard-Westlake has an incredible basketball program and has always been one of the best teams out on the West Coast representing the state of California. The Wolverines are currently ranked in the top-25 and hold a 20-1 overall record with ten of those wins being high quality wins on the season. Crossroads (CA), Guyer (TX), Prestonwood Christian (TX), Rancho Christian (CA), Ironwood (AZ), Whitney Young (IL), Bentonville West (AR), Etiwanda (CA), Curtis (WA), and Notre Dame (CA) are the high quality teams that Harvard-Westlake has added to their resume so far this season. The Wolverines are definitely one of the favorites to capture that CIF Open Division state championship.

Paul VI (VA)
Current Record: 16-1

The defending WCAC and VISAA state champions, Paul VI, have been as good as advertised this season. Paul VI was one of the most surprising national teams just a year ago and have bought just about everyone back from that incredible team. They currently hold eight quality wins on the season which include wins over Christ the King (NY), Mater Dei (CA), DeMatha Catholic (MD), Roselle Catholic (NJ), Wheeler (GA), Archbishop Stepinac (NY), Lake Highlands (TX), and Mount St. Joseph (MD). The Panthers could see themselves repeat as champions in both the WCAC and VISAA by March.

IMG Academy (FL)
Current Record: 11-4

Head coach Sean McAloon is one of the best high school coaches currently in the world of high school hoops and has IMG Academy as one of the best teams in the country once again this season, sitting at 11-4 currently. The Ascenders are back in the NIBC and have eight high quality wins under their belt so far this season. La Lumiere (IN), Long Island Lutheran (NY), AZ Compass Prep (AZ) 2x, Tampa Catholic (FL), Providence Day (NC), The Rock School (FL), and Newton (GA) are the teams that IMG has added to their quality wins resume. The Ascenders should see themselves apart of the GEICO Nationals in March.

Imhotep Charter (PA)
Current Record: 14-2

Imhotep Charter has been one of the best public school programs this season and as expected. The Panthers captured their state championship last season and should repeat as champions once their season ends in March. They currently hold six quality wins so far which includes games against South Shore (NY), Kings Forks (VA), Newman (LA), North Laurel (KY), Archbishop Stepinac (NY), Wheeler (GA), and Columbus (FL). The Panthers also have a City of Palms Classic championship under their belt this season.

Sierra Canyon (CA)
Current Record: 18-4

The Bronny James Jr. era at Sierra Canyon is nearing an end with the season halfway through. The Trailblazers have always been known for their elite national schedule and this season has certainly been no different. Sierra Canyon is currently 17-4 on the season, ranked in the top-25 nationally, and currently have six quality wins on their resume. They currently have wins over Crossroads (CA), San Joaquan Memorial (CA), St. Joseph (CA), Christ the King (NY), Bishop Gorman (NV), and Wheeler (GA). Sierra Canyon will obviously be one of the main contenders to capture that CIF Open Division state championship this season.
